Robert Eggers is a Brooklyn based writer and director. Originally from New Hampshire, Eggers began his professional career directing and designing experimental and classical theatre in downtown New York. Eggers then transitioned to film, directing several short films, and throughout his twenties, worked extensively as a designer for film, television, print, theatre, and dance. His feature film debut as writer and directer, THE WITCH, won the Directing Award in the U.S. Dramatic category at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, where its premier received critical acclaim. THE WITCH also garnered awards from other national and international film festivals including the Sutherland Prize for Best Debut Feature in London. Eggers is currently in development with THE KNIGHT, a medieval epic, with Jeff Robinov's Studio 8 and Parts & Labor. Also on his slate with Studio 8, is a reimagining of F.W. Murnau's classic film, NOSFERATU.
